Procedure of erecting a tower crane

1. Plan the erection process: Before starting the erection process, a detailed plan should be made, including site preparation, Tower Crane assembly and dismantling.

2. Prepare the site: The site should be cleared of any obstacles and leveled to ensure a stable foundation for the crane. The crane's foundation should be designed according to the manufacturer's specifications and local building codes.

3. Assemble the Mast Section: The Tower Crane Mast Section is assembled on the ground and lifted into place using a smaller crane or a hydraulic jacking system. The tower sections are bolted together to form a single unit.

4. Install the slewing unit: The slewing unit is installed at the top of the tower and connected to the tower sections. The slewing unit allows the crane to rotate 360 degrees.

5. Install the jib: The jib is the horizontal arm of the crane that supports the load. The jib is attached to the slewing unit and can be adjusted to different lengths depending on the job requirements.

6. Install the counterweights: The counterweights are installed on the opposite end of the jib to balance the weight of the load being lifted.

7. Test the tower crane: Once the crane is fully assembled, it should be tested to ensure it is working properly. The testing should include a load test to ensure the crane can lift the maximum weight it is rated for.

8. Dismantle the tower crane: When the job is complete, the crane should be dismantled in the reverse order of the erection process. The tower sections are lowered to the ground, and the crane is disassembled and transported to the next job site.
